Local Lifestyle

Riverview is full of suburban charms, offering abundant city amenities for shopping, dining, and services. And while it’s close enough to Tampa and some of Florida’s most popular beaches, Riverview’s residential neighborhoods are quieter and more laid back. Even as a fast-growing city, it has retained its small-town appeal and close-knit community.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Italian Kitchen Grill and Cafe serves traditional Italian and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. The bistro-style setting is warm and vibrant. It’s perfect for social get-togethers, large family gatherings, and intimate date nights. Their oven-baked pasta, such as ravioli, ziti, manicotti, and tortellini, are diner favorites. Other menu highlights include chicken limoncello, land and sea ultimate pasta, and sausage florentine.

For steakhouse fare, Donovan’s Meatery is known for its smoky meats, exquisite seafood, prime chops, and wild game. They use a double wood-fired grill, and dishes are prepared to order. Vegetable-forward side dishes, decadent desserts, signature cocktails, and a curated wine list complete the hearty meals. Loyal diners come back again and again in order to try out everything on the menu.

For Asian-inspired flavors, Sakura Japanese Steakhouse serves creative sushi rolls, table-side teppanyaki, and rice and noodle dishes. They are highly rated for their expansive menu, weekday lunch specials, and hearty Hibachi dinners.

For casual wine tasting, Bin + Board is a wine and cheese-centric bar. They pair wine tastings with artfully-prepared charcuterie boards. A specially-curated wine list includes selections from all over the world. They also serve craft beers, small plates, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and ice cream.

Things to Do

Living in Riverview means a short drive to the Gulf Coast and some of Florida’s best beaches. Clearwater Beach is known for its white sand and calm, clear waters. Water activities include parasailing, jet skiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, boating, and dolphin watching. The ever-popular Pier 60 hosts live music and street performers in the evenings. And the beachfront promenade is lined with trendy cafes and restaurants.

Another great destination for water activities is the Alafia River. It’s less touristy and provides a tranquil atmosphere for kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and observing wildlife. Nearby are great eateries and lively bars worth checking out after a day in the water.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Boyette Springs Park is a community park with sports facilities. There are soccer and baseball fields, picnic areas, nature trails, and a playground for kids. It often hosts public events for neighborhood residents.

For golf enthusiasts, Summerfield Crossings Golf Club is one of Tampa’s top public golf courses. It features a signature 15th-hole, Scottish-links style course, pro shop, full-service restaurant, and banquet facilities. They also offer a membership program that will give you access to other city golf courses.
